Principal

Mr. Matthew Kimbrell will be the Principal of R. M. Moore Elementary starting in July of 2022. Mr. Kimbrell has been an educator for over 22 years. Most recently, Mr. Kimbrell held the position of principal of Mamie Lou Gross Elementary School in Camden County, Georgia. Prior, he served as the Principal of Clinch County Elementary School and Clinch County Middle School. Before he became an administrator, Mr. Kimbrell was a special education teacher, and he also worked for the state Migrant Education Program. Mr. Kimbrell has coached middle and high school football and served as the after school and summer school coordinator for Berrien County Schools.

Mr. Kimbrell believes in collaborative leadership and creating a great working and learning environment. He enjoys learning about new and innovative ideas that make school engaging and productive for both teachers and students. While working for the migrant education program, he was a dropout prevention specialist, and he believes we must teach students how to dream by setting realistic goals and action steps.

Mr. Kimbrell earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Special Education from Valdosta State University and a master’s degree in Teaching and Learning from Cambridge College. He obtained his Education Specialist in School Leadership and Administration from Valdosta State University.

Mr. Kimbrell is married to Kelli Kimbrell. Kelli is a school administrator in Cobb County. They have five children. Luke (23), Abbylane (21), Leigha (18), Lindy (15), and Ryland (8). Luke just recently graduated from UGA, Abbylane is currently enrolled at Valdosta State University as a Speech Communications Major, and Leigha will be attending ABAC in the fall.

Mrs. Kim Moody

Mrs. Moody is excited to begin another great school year serving as assistant principal of RM Moore STEM Academy, a school which holds an incredibly special place in her heart. She brings twenty-five years of experience as an educator, all in CCSD. Her teaching career began at Woodstock Elementary School followed by RM Moore. She served two years of her career as an Instructional Lead Strategist at Holly Springs STEM Academy prior to becoming an assistant principal.

Mrs. Moody earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Kennesaw State University and a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Brenau University.  She obtained a specialist’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont University.  Educational Leadership certification was obtained from West Georgia University.

Mrs. Moody is looking forward to another successful year at RM Moore working with students, staff, and the community.

Mrs. Leah Bleisath

Mrs. Leah Bleisath is a native of Cherokee County, attending Mountain Road Elementary, Dean Rusk Middle School and Sequoyah High School.  Mrs. Bleisath continued her education at Brenau Women’s College obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree and a Minor in Dance Education in 2005.  After beginning her educational career in Cherokee County, Mrs. Bleisath later obtained her Masters Degree from Walden University in Literacy in the Content Areas in 2009, Education Specialist Degree from Piedmont College in Curriculum and Instruction in 2011 and is currently part of the Leadership Doctoral program at Liberty University. 

While working for the Cherokee County Board of Education, Mrs. Bleisath has served on various committees including; the Superintendent’s Annual Technology Committee, the Superintendent’s Annual Discipline Code Handbook Committee and the Superintendent’s Annual Cherokee Academies/STEM Education Planning, Development and Advisory Committee.  She has also been a STEMCherokee Facilitator, STARLab Instructor, EdCamp Cherokee Instructor, helped facilitate virtual learning through Cherokee County and has been chosen to take part in the Superintendent’s Leadership Academy I, II & III.  Along with her commitment to Cherokee County, Mrs. Bleisath has helped the state of Georgia with the TKES/LKES Regional Feedback Effectiveness Division and part of the Georgia Milestones Data Review Committee.  During her time as an administrator, Mrs. Bleisath has spoken at various conferences throughout Georgia to help support new administrators transition into their new role.  Mrs. Bleisath has served as an administrator at E.T. Booth Middle School, Creekland Middle School and is excited to join the R. M. Moore Elementary School Braves family as an Assistant Principal.

Mrs. Bleisath married her best friend from high school, Ryan Bleisath, who also serves as one of our wonderful School Police Resource Officers for Cherokee County Schools.  Together, we have three girls; Kaitlyn (13), Jocelyn (10), and Tatum (9).  If we are not at the ball field, dance studio or tennis court with our girls, we enjoy traveling and going to the movies.  Mrs. Bleisath is also a member of the Cherokee County Service League, giving back to the children in need of Cherokee County.
